I want to learn traditional flamenco guitar -- (older styles like Niño
Ricardo or Melchor de Marchena -- not rumba, fusion, or the "modern"
style of playing).

Does anyone know where I could find a good teacher? I'm in Western
Massachusetts -- I could travel as far as Boston or New York
occasionally. I want to go to Spain next year to study there...
probably Sevilla. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Go to Cordoba, Spain and take lessons with Rafael Merengue who taught
Vicente Amigo, Paco Serrano, and Jose Antonio Rodriguez.
He is quite cheap also.

I actually may go to Spain soon and take private lessons for a few
months. I want to go to Sevilla though. Any ideas for how to
approach the trip?

If you need recommendations for guitar teachers and so on, a good
place to ask is in the forum ofPaco de Lucía... lots of english
speaking players in there http://www.pacodelucia.org/foro/

Also try www.amorflamenco.com (english welcome)
