Hi,

After years of searching, I think I have finally found scores
for the piece "Caprichio Espagnol" (Rimsky-Korsakoff), which seems
to be close the version played by Sabicas in some of his records.
The scores are published in "Progressive Studies for Classical Guitar", by
Jack Buckingham, Fischer, 1975, NY.

But, the problem is that the piece begins with an effect which I don't
understand: in the notation it is a wavy line accompanied with
words "Tambor chico", and there is a footnote saying:
"Snare drum effect. 5th string crossed over 6th on 10th fret. Played
with rasgueado"

Does anybody have an idea how to play this?
Exactly what should be done? How can one cross the strings?

Just as it say. Cross 5 and 6 and play it with x-a-m-i. Start at low volume
and increase loudness. It sounds like a snare drum. It is an impression of a
Spanish procession coming towards you. I think the piece will and with the
same technique
